Purpose: This webinar aims to familiarize members of the interdisciplinary team with meaning-centered psychotherapy (MCP) because it offers valuable tools for addressing trauma, particularly in helping patients find purpose and meaning in their experiences.
Objectives:
- Explain the principles of trauma-informed care and their importance in hospice settings, emphasizing how recognizing and responding to past trauma can improve patient and family experiences
- Recognize signs of trauma and understand their potential effects on individuals in hospice care, including how trauma can affect their emotional, psychological, and physical well-being
- Implement practical strategies and interventions to integrate trauma-informed practices into the care approach, ensuring that hospice care is sensitive, supportive, and tailored to the needs of patients with trauma histories

Continuing Education Accreditation
Physicians: The AAFP has reviewed MJHS 2024-2025 Interprofessional Webinar Series, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 09/26/2024 to 08/31/2025. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This session Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy in Relation to Patient Trauma is approved for 1.0 online AAFP Elective credit.
Note: Physicians should contact their respective licensing boards and specialty certification boards about acceptance of AAFP Elective credits when attempting to satisfy CME credit requirements.
