Purpose: The purpose of this webinar is to communicate the significance of patient-preferred music when addressing goals through music.
Objectives:
- Review research on music and the brain
- Explain how familiar songs enhance the connection between music and the brain
- Describe music therapy interventions that use familiar songs to address patient goals, with simpler interventions that could be used by other clinicians and caregivers
Target Audience: Registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses with a specialty in palliative care/hospice, social workers, allied health professionals, creative arts therapists
Criteria for Successful Completion:
- Attendance at entire session
- Submission of completed evaluation form
- Successful completion of a posttest; 80% passing grade (mandatory to receive CE credit for social workers)
