Purpose: By having an awareness of the symptoms of compassion fatigue, care providers can take steps to foster balance and sustained compassion by focusing on self-care and support.

Objectives:  

1. Recognize the symptoms of compassion fatigue in order to take steps to foster balance and sustained compassion
2. Implement skills necessary to practice sustainable self-care
3. Recognize the link between a rise in deaths in your caseload and compassion fatigue
4. Manage the grieving process in order to better support your patients, their families, and yourself

Physicians: This live online webinar, Strategies to Overcome Compassion Fatigue While Servicing Grieving Families, with a beginning date of December 12, 2024, is approved for 1.0 American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Elective credit. AAFP Elective credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit^™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
Physicians should only claim the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
